Sen. Abiru urges peace, unity in Nigeria

Sen. Mukhail Abiru, (APC – Lagos) on Monday advised Muslim faithful to use the period of Eid-el- Fitr to pray for peace, unity and growth of the nation.

Abiru who represents Lagos East senatorial district, gave the advice at the Salah praying ground at Grammar school area in Ikorodu, Lagos.

All Muslim faithful should continue to pray for security, peace and unity for the development of Nigeria.

We must unite and pray to ensure the progress of Nigeria; it is hard time now in the country, we need to pray for peace.

Nigerians should not relent in their prayers, particularly this period that the the country is going through some challenges that will soon be a thing of the past,” Abiru said.

He also prayed for the success and realisation of the ambition of Sen. Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant in the 2023 general elections.

The Chief Imam of Ikorodu, Sheik Shefiudeen Olowo-oribi in his message, urged Muslims to use the teachings and lessons of Ramadan to embrace peace and coexist in the country.

Olowo-oribi commended residents on their resilient and compliance during the COVID-19, adding that the pandemic had caused dwindling of the economy.

He prayed and thanked the senator for being magnanimous in his effort s and rebranding the praying ground for Muslim faithful in Ikorodu.

Also, the traditional ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi warned Muslim clerics that the praying ground should be properly maintained and not be used as event centre.
